Our Native English Teaching Team: A Cornerstone of Excellence
A cornerstone of the CKCPS advantage is our renowned international team of Native English Teachers (NETs). We are passionately committed to delivering an exceptional English language education that transcends the traditional classroom.
Through the combined expertise of our twelve dedicated NETs and a dynamic, activity-rich curriculum, we cultivate a truly immersive English environment. This powerful combination not only accelerates proficiency and confidence but also ensures that every student’s learning journey is both inspiring and deeply rewarding.
Our Vision and Mission
- To cultivate confident, proficient communicators by developing students' holistic English capabilities in listening, speaking, reading, and writing for effective thinking and global communication.
- To foster knowledgeable, globally-minded citizens by using English to acquire and apply knowledge, appreciate traditional Chinese wisdom, and understand diverse cultures.
- To create an inclusive, immersive learning environment that embraces learner diversity through differentiated instruction and supportive immersion, ensuring effective progress for all.
- To extend learning beyond the classroom through strong home-school collaboration, encouraging students to give expression to their experiences and continue their language journey.
Curriculum features (P1-P3 Space Town Programme)
Our school takes part in the Space Town Literacy Programme, led by the Education Bureau’s NET Section, to enhance English literacy in P1–P3.
Students enjoy weekly story sessions taught by a dedicated team of NETs, local teachers and classroom assistants. Through storytelling, role-play, songs, phonics games, and integrated tasks, we inspire a love of English reading and develop strong literacy skills.
P4-6 Development of Text Sets Programme (DTS)
Our school participates in the Developmental Text Set (DTS) programme for Key Stage 2, supported by the EDB NET Section. Our English teachers are learning to create thematic text sets that move beyond textbooks, using diverse materials to explore topics from multiple perspectives.
In Primary 5, teachers have developed a "Treasured China" unit to help students appreciate Chinese culture while building reading skills. By connecting learning to the real world through various genres and formats, we make English language education more dynamic, engaging, and meaningful.
